Chapter Nine Page 22
Back at the hotel.
Jany: Can you help me book a train trip to Chicago? For today or tomorrow, please.
Concierge: Sure. Let me look up the last-minute Amtrak prices . . . .
Jany: . . . It takes HOW long? And costs HOW much?
Please tell me that number sounds less awful in pounds.
Kara Lynn: At the current exchange rate, it ‘s — —– — —–.
And back at the con.
Spaceman Spiff: Zounds! If the hostile Gorkians are successful, the planet Mok will be blown to smithereens! The fearless space adventurer has just ten minutes to thwart their dastardly plot!
Jany: Wake me when the episode is over, mmkay? Or if the planet actually explodes, whichever comes first.
Kara Lynn: Sleep well, Master.

If that is indeed a parody Dragonball Z she’s camping to sleep in (making a guess because of the hair) then don’t worry, Jany, you could catch a few weeks’ worth of sleep before any plot happens.
Welcome to America!
where we have states the size of many countries (seriously you could shove Japan inside a few of them),
So … does she have those money or not?
Current (1/1/2013) price from Baltimore to Chicago (which leaves in _one hour_ from the time I write this, so really last minute prices!): $366/£255
This is for two adults sitting up for a 20 hour trip in two chairs, hope you brought food and water with you!
After checking Amtrack’s website for seasonal changes in prices, the basic price appears to be $190/£116 for a straight trip on a slower (25 hour trip) train.
Since she couldn’t afford concert tickets, I’m going to say: “Nope, not without giving up her hotel room, which is why she’s sleeping in the screening room.”
I will give away that she’s sleeping because she’s jet-lagged, not because she abandoned the hotel room. (That money was already spent anyway.)
What the fornicate? Are they watching an English dub?
They’re so cute.
