Special thanks to the long-time readers who came out of lurkdom on the last page!
In just under a week, February 21, it will be BICP’s second anniversary. Start planning your celebrations now…
____
Jany: It’s so bright . . .
Kara Lynn: Master, will you hold this for me?
Patrick: Take care of these?
Bianca: Of course!
Not far off:
Sparrow: Dagnabbit.
Patrick: Let’s do this.
(FLASH!)

Well, we now know what’s Sparrow’s background is: She’s the descendant of the person who last ‘hacked the code’…Who seems to have left their ‘code debugger’ running in the ‘view a running process’ mode.
LOL I love this analogy.
Welp, now we know that she a) has a range, and b)it ignores line of sight.
Well we know there is a range, as she isn’t pulled into (every battle on Earth); which would suck to grow up and have THAT happen without warning. So maybe like a hundred feet or more.
She’s only pulled into the battles that concern Patrick, no?
There goes that theory, the one that said maybe Sparrow could get away and not join them. Hope she wasn’t looking forward to a panel.
Hmm, Maybe there is a distance component. She didn’t get dragged into battle plain with Miranda and Poe? Or did that fight take place in our dimension? Off to reread.
I hope she gets to the arena before they go back, and doesn’t end up embedded in a wall or something when the battle ends.
Actually, she’s lucky she didn’t end up part of a tree!
probably a safety in the transporter code, after all its never been an issue with the masters and beings; they seem to always appear in a clearing and not in the trees, air, inside rock, cliff side, on water, ect…
Sparrow wasn’t supposed to show up at all, so there’s obviously bugs in the code.
… I don’t think you can actually use the battle as a way to move in real world. Someone would surely already tried to use that to robbery.
I thought third parties hadn’t ever been pulled into the battle before, so it hadn’t come up.
I mean, what prevents the being MASTERS to use it to move?
The giant forms are totally badass, though I like how Big Dog Patrick still has some puppyish features to him!
And laughing forever @ “Dagnabbit!”
adorable. and oh, Sparrow.
But why would that be genetic? You can’t “inherit” programming, you’d have to learn it.
Then again, we have no idea if Sparrow’s line is “hacked” itself, so a possibility still.
Actually, only thing you CAN inherit is programming stored in DNA.
Not what I meant. The “programming” of the beings, if it is what Sparrow’s ancestor learned, how can THAT ability be inherited through DNA?
It’s not, what Sparrow inherited from her ancestor was a genetic marker which tells the ‘Game system’ to treat her like it would have treated her ancestor, which is why all the strange stuff is happening to her (being sucked into running nearby fights, being strangely appealing to beings). In modern day parlance, she has inherited her ancestor’s Game account. She might not have the ability, but she does have the access.
Makes me wonder now what the price for maintaining that account is.
I love how excited they look to be fighting – hope it’s a good one!
Nothing like a fight to say “hello” to a long-lost friend.
I’m tempted to think that this has nothing to do with Sparrow’s DNA, descent line and what have you. Why not just because she was a really important figure in the making of Patrick’s contract with Bianca?
