Jany: What would be nice is if you can tell us what’s wrong with Kara Lynn! She’s been freezing up out of nowhere for months now. And it’s only getting worse! Why?
Patrick: Well. When you put it like that . . . All I actually have is an unproven theory. But obviously it can’t have anything to do with blood sugar. That’s a good start, right?
Kara Lynn: I don’t remember you being this insecure. Is it new?
Patrick: If you wanted me to get to the point, you could have just said so! And the point is . . . When was the last time you had a battle?
Aah, my guess as to where this is going: the family has been working her so hard at jobs etc. that she hasn’t battled in ages and is going through some kind of withdrawal or energy backup because of it.
I had a feeling it had something to with battle, maybe that (world) they go to when they battle, or releasing pent up energies used to fight and heal.
And she’s been the lone Being off in England (at least that’s what I’m remembering from Walker’s notes). There may not have been anyone else around to battle.
Like Queen said, I doubt that the family wanted to put their “meal ticket” in danger.

wondered if that was how the Nazis managed to kill a Being, by isolating hir long enough and not letting hir battle, but it seems unlikely as Kara Lynn probably hasn’t battled in years and years. maybe they separated hir from hir Master?
Or killed the master – and then isolated the being so that no new contract could be formed.
(Question of how long a being can go between masters. The two we saw linked up very quickly… and if a being could go for…say centuries…. between masters… then by human perception some would be ‘masterless’. Or maybe not… just me thinking here.)
Sadly, probably not the case. The Nazis were all about using “science” to discover better ways to kill their enemies. Odds are they subjected said being to multiple tortures, gassing, shootings, maybe even a tank cannon or two. The isolation was probably only a side-effect of them trying to keep it from escaping.
Well, hopefully they can have a friendly fight to get it out of her system.
